Where is the FHCP? Sunday 19 September 2004 0:18am CET - by Dark_Dust First of all, I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but you know..we're not dead. :) You probably have noticed -unless you've been living under a rock in the past few weeks- that www.fhi-communitypack.tk has been hosted somewhere else. The FHCP is now since a few weeks sub hosted on Fraghouse which on his turn is hosted by Beyondunreal. I must say, there couldn't be any other place than here, it's perfect!! So my thanks goes out to |FH|Parser from Fraghouse who has helped me out and sub hosted my site. And of course my thanks also goes out to Beyondunreal for allowing Fraghouse to sub host me.
Back onto the topic.. Almost a month has passed by and you're probably wondering; where is the FHCP? Well, you've guessed it, the fhcp has again been postponed from last week. Some unexpected things happened, and basically we're not ready to release it. Therefore I will not announce a new release date, but instead will say -which we should have done in the first place- "when it's done" It won't be long anymore, believe me.
In a contribution towards you folks, I have added 21 new screenshots of 5 maps. You can find them in the media page. Also, I've updated the map list and downloads page. And not to forget i've added the servers section to the site which shows you 6 servers. Check the servers page to see what they are running and click their link to join instantly.
Other news today: Nurulwai from Fraghouse (formerly known as [-Will-]) has made a cool, but sick and fun weapons mod called; Stupid Weapons. Below is a snippet from Fraghouse.
Probably the most exciting weapon has to be the Barrel Bomber. Primary chucks out exploding barrels (most comonly seen in AS maps) and secondary detonates all of those which belong to you. Yep, all of them. You can lay down about 200 before things start getting hairy. There are also various other weapons including the Bouncing Rocket Launcher, the Momentum Rifle, Spam Cannon, Flak Blaster and Bolt Rifle.
You can view a gallery of images right here and the download can be found in the downloads section, together with Skaar Fest, another mod recently created by Fraghouse.
Have fun! |

New Screenshots: Monday 23 August 2004 9:30pm CET - by Dark_Dust Hi there. The weather was awfull this evening, but it was perfect enough to get you guys some new screenshots. :) I got 17 brand new screenshots for you of total 7 new maps. Check them out on the media page. And.. we have a teaser available for download on BU Fileworks which shows some of our maps in action. The teaser is relative long, approx. 15 min. (Thanks BaZ-uK) You need DivX 5.11 or higher to play the movie. Get it here if you don't have DivX installed.
Last week we got 3 new members on the team to help make erm.... maps...but we caught a coder too. >:) He's working on 2 new gametypes for FHI namely; Boss Rush and Fraghouse Reloaded*. Now you probably wonder what they are, but im not going into specific details right now. Try checking the faq page and find your luck there. :p
The FHCP is going very well. At the moment we have 25 maps on the list, but it's certainly not final. There's still unfinished work floating around. But im not worried about that. After all, the new release date is still a few weeks away.
I'll end this post by saying that the pages; Downloads, CP Update, CP Team, FAQ and of course Media have been updated. Be sure to read the FAQ page. It has some 'valuable' new info of our pack.
Well, that's all for the moment. Later!
Edit: (* Fraghouse Reloaded is a so called "working title", which means this is a temporary name and can be changed later) |

FHCP release delayed: Saturday 14 August 2004 9:12pm CET - by Dark_Dust Hi there. Im back from my holiday a few days now and it was hell lot of fun. My UK friends really enjoyed it here in holland, it was their first time too. I can't wait for next year to see them again.. and vice versa, again here in holland. :)
But to all good things comes and end and 'real life' continues. (work-eat-sleep) I haven't really got a chance yet to update everything -shame on me- but hey, at least we're not dead. :) Im doing my best and get a "big" update done soon.
Im just doing a quick update on the FHCP. We intended to release the pack tomorrow the 15th. But unfortunately we can't make it on time. We have pushed the release back by roughly a month. Around half September that is. We have a few reasons for doing that. One of the reasons is that the MSU Phase 4 has been pushed back to September. Even if MSU phase 4 wasn't moved, we'd probably still decide to move our own deadline. While it may be quite disappointing to you, it's rather cool to us, as we give ourselfs more time now to finish and polish up stuff. Also, note that it's right in the middle of the holidays season, so many people are gone. Figures? :) Well, you can be sure of 1 thing; our pack will be even better than we actually intended. Only we can tell im afraid. :p
Ok, is there something else going on? OHH YES!!
Parser, from Fraghouse is currently working on a new gametype for UT2004, called 'Skaarj Fest' Players spawn as a skaarj and can morph to other monsters too. Monsters have to be picked up from the weapon bases. No sniper, rocket launcher or shock rifle anymore, just monsters. :) Another thing he's working on is the Ripper2k4. As you can guess, it's the Ripper from UT99 and it has a brand new skin. For more info and a bunch of screenshots showing Skaarj Fest and Ripper2k4, quickly head over to Fraghouse and have a peak!
Well, that's all for now. Stay tuned!
Edit: I'm running a Skaarj Fest server from time to time. Look for 'Devils Heaven |-- Skaarj Fest --|' server in the DM online tab or click here to join instantly. It's not running? Check again later.
Note: weapons pickups are replaced by monsters, some weapon pickups have 2 types of monsters (see monsternames at pickup). Use the secondary fire to select the second monster. For example: Rocket launcher = Warlord / Titan. Primary fire = Warlord, secondary fire = Titan. All monsters have their own weapons and melee attacks. You always begin as a skaarj, you need to pickup new monsters before you can morph into them. Only 1 morph allowed / life. |

Vacation Starts Sunday 25 July 2004 12:54pm CET - by Dark_Dust Hi, just a quick note that i won't be around for at least a week. That means, there will be no updates on the site.
Im having 2 weeks vacation now with 2 friends coming over from the UK. Next week i will probably have some time to update the site and perhaps have some fresh new screens ready for you guys.
For those who wants to know, the progress of FHCP is going very well. Still, the release is about 3 weeks away. There is one thing i'd like to tell before i leave.
BaZ -one of our team members- is currently working on a teaser movie, showing some action on our coolest maps. :) Release? "When it's done" :p
Well, that's all for now, i'd better hurry and prepare myself.. i have to pick up my UK friends in 3 hours from the Airport, Schiphol.
Later! |

Site update Wednesday 21 July 2004 19:21 CET - by Dark_Dust Well, our first update since launch..wooo :) To be honest, i don't have much time available to put into the site, but updates includes;
- Some stupid standard questions - :p which you can read in the FAQ page. - Updated 'CP Update' page with some new additions. - A few screenshots from some of our maps.. OMGWTF?? Yeah you read that right, screenshots. Haste yerself to the media page and find out. Not less than 6 new screenshots!!
Ok, so how's the FHCP coming?
Well, we're all still hard at work completing one map after another as well as the coded stuff. At the moment we have about 19 maps that are either in beta stage or in final stage.
We are now less than a month away till the release of our pack. Just a reminder, our release date is set on 15th of August 2004. Of course, if everything is going as planned.
Well now, for those who have questions concerning the FHCP, Don't bomb us with loads of shit emails. Check the FAQ page instead -as i mentioned above- before you come to us. :P Most likely you will find your answer there. If not..well.. that's bad luck.
In the next update i shall include some cool links and add some cool FHI v3.1 servers here.
Till then, have fun playing FHI2k4 and slowly prepare for our pack. :)

Just gone live Thursday 15 July 2004 19:36 CET - by Dark_Dust
Welcome to the official FHCP site, bit plain simple, but who cares? :) We are your #1 news source of the Fraghouse Invasion Community Pack (FHCP). In case you are new to FHI, below is a short description of what FHI really is, taken straight from their site.
"Fraghouse Invasion is a large collection of new maps, weapons, monsters, skins, models and a variety of other content that has been built from one code twist of the original Invasion. It takes the normal Invasion gametype and gives it a few subtle tweaks that make immense gameplay changes. Monsters are spawned at specific locations rather than player starts, meaning the players can start in a fort structure as a defence from the oncoming hordes of monsters!"
So ok, what's with this "FHCP"? Well some UT2004 players saw this Mod and liked it so much they decided to put their hands in one and start making maps for this mod. Our goal is make funny playable map and not to even CBP quality. When you play FHI you'll understand why. ;)
Feel free to browse around the site and get to know more of this project. I hope you like it.. if not, then it's your damn problem. :p
In the upcoming weeks i will be adding new FHCP content and such on the site, just to satisfy you hungry folks. :D If you got questions, look at the FAQ and most likely you'll find your answer there.
Oh yeah, i almost forgot.. In case you have been living underground for the past few weeks.. FragHouse Invasion version 3.1 has been released some time ago as a full version. Users who have just version 3 installed can grab a patch to bring their version up-to-date to 3.1. Download links can.. obviously.. be found in the downloads section. :)
As said, new FHCP content will be posted in the upcoming weeks, as well as a FAQ, links and a list of cool FHI2k4 servers. Stay tuned! |
